ROAV @the COVE - Oct 29 - 31, 2010

ROAV @the COVE

Many members have voiced their desire to have a wheeling-centered event at the COVE… We hear you and we’ll make it happen!

SAVE THE DATE… ROAV @the COVE October 29 - 31, 2010. Registration for ROAV @the COVE will open during MAR.

Until then, here is some information to answer frequently asked questions about the event:

~ROAV @the COVE will begin at noon on Friday, October 29th and end at noon on Sunday, October 31st.

~If you are attending ROAV’s Mid Atlantic Rally, we are discounting your registration to the Cove. Register during MAR and pay only $5 per truck. Otherwise, registration cost is $20 per truck.

~The Cove’s trail use fee for the per-day (24 hour period) trail use is as follows:

$25 per truck (includes driver)
$15 per adult passenger
$10 per child passenger (under 12)

~The Cove has graciously extended a promo rate to ROAV members in that the 24 hour period will not be calendar days as is typical. For this year’s ROAV @the COVE event, the Cove’s 24 hour period rates are as follows:

Friday noon to Saturday noon = Day 1
Saturday noon to Sunday noon =Day 2

~Fees for the camping and cabins are according to the COVE’s rate schedule. You can find out more about The Cove Campground and associated fees by visiting THE COVE WEBSITE.

~The Cove Campground fees will be ala cart and paid directly to the Cove upon arrival. For example, a person wanting to camp and not off-road would only pay for camping. For another example, a person wanting to off-road for a day can pay for off-roading and for day use without having to camp.

~Check in will be located at the Cove Campground Office. Pick up your registration packets there.
Rally control will be located at Camp II. You can pick up your pre-ordered T-shirts at Rally Control. T-shirts will be available on a pre-order basis only. We will not be printing extra t-shirts for this event.

~You must be a member of ROAV to attend the ROAV @ the COVE event. If you’d like to join or re-new your membership, you may do so at the time of check in.

~You will also need to complete a waiver. Everyone attending must sign the waiver – drivers and passengers.

~There are no additional fees for tow or recreational vehicles.

~ROAV members are encouraged to use Camp II by Lake Leckszas. To print out a campsite map click here COVE CAMPSITE MAP.

~According to the Cove, there are approximately 30 trails ranging from beginner and advanced to very difficult. At least one truck in the group should have a winch when on the “advanced” and “very difficult” trails. Lockers are optional, but recommended. Recovery points are a must.

~Guided trail rides are being planned. More information will be included in your registration packets along with the trail maps.

~Please be off the trails between midnight and 8 AM. No drinking and driving!

~Dogs are welcome. They should be on leash around the campground office. They may run free in the fields.

~Many of the camp’s amenities will be available during this event. Please note – the lakes are being drained for maintenance work starting mid September.

It is the same as the other events at the estate, for the most part. Tidewater Fourwheelers, Chris, is the leader of the trail guides. I am going to be a Guide again this year. We run all day on Friday and Saturday.
It should be a lot of fun. Hope to see more Rovers this year.
