Churchill look alike

In honor of our celebration of the 60th Anniversary of Land Rover, ROAV is offering a great prize for the "best Winston Churchill look alike"!


Winner/ prize will be announced at the Creative Black tie dinner on Friday night.
In the safari tradition, several prizes will be awarded for the best camp sites.

Categories will include:
Best Family campsite
Best bachelor pad
Best Expedition set up
Best Hospitality campsite

(any attempts at bribery of judges will be encouraged! :-))

Judging will take place all day Sat.
with winners announced before the Club auction.

2 (two) premium tickets to *ANY* show in the US (including sold out shows!) with the opportunity to meet the band.

ANNOUNCEMENT!

The Rover Owner's Association Board of Directors and Officers have generously voted to add a charitable component to the 2008 Mid-Atlantic Rally in memory of 18-yr-old, Andrew Mason, Mike and Peggy Mason's son, who was killed February 23rd, 2008 in an automobile accident in Virginia. Andrew attended many club events and work weekends while growing up, and the decision was made to honor his memory through the Mid-Atlantic Rally's Annual Andrew Mason Memorial Toys-for-Tots Toy Drive.

Andrew joined the U.S. Marine Corps in late December 2007 and was scheduled to attend boot camp June 2008. Memorial donations were requested by Mike and by Andrew's mother Beth, to be directed to the Marine Corps' Annual Toy-for-Tots Toy Drive because he was a very young man who had decided that the Marine Corps was going to be the next direction for his life.

If you are attending the 2008 Mid-Atlantic Rally at Oak Ridge Estate this year, please consider bringing a new, unwrapped toy or a monetary donation to give in Andrew's memory.

A MAR first for 2008 - the RoverTym Challenge!

The RoverTym Challenge is a special offroad challenge for those club members who have taken the extra time and effort to build their trucks for the most challenging terrain. This elite group will be assigned a dedicated team of guides to take them to the toughest challenges at the MAR on Friday and Saturday. This will give them the opportunity to test their vehicles and their nerve to the fullest.

The RoverTym crew will be right there with them the whole way - and best of all, they will be providing special awards for the Challenge group during the experience!

Do you think you have what it takes? This is for modified vehicles only - there are minimum requirements for the vehicle and operator.
