ROAV is headed to Rausch Creek for our Summer 2011 Rally. The event will begin at noon on Friday, July 29th and end at 3 PM on Sunday, July 31st.

Rausch Creek Off Road Park is located in Tremont, Pennsylvania. The park consists of almost 3,000 acres of easy, intermediate and advanced trails with wheeling until dusk.

The rally is held in association with Rover Lab and Lucky8 Off Road Equipment.

Online Registration is open. The registration fee payable to ROAV is $20 per vehicle. It includes one Summer Rally t-shirt and a sticker.

The t-shirt will feature an illustration of a Defender 130 on the back. Scroll down in this forum thread to see a draft of the design. Additional t-shirts may be pre-ordered for pickup at the event for $20 each.

ROAV has reserved the Pavilion area and its bath house. The area also borders on a stream and campers have access to the pool and associated

What time is everyone planning on leaving for this? Wouldn't mind following a group, if there is one going by Front Royal or 66 at 81. Can't wait. Never been to Rausch Creek but always wanted to go. WooHoo!!!

All you need is two vehicles to make a group at R/C. If you get their and there is at least one other person you can always head out. The maps from the office and online are well marked. I have never had a problem getting around the park. I have no clue as to what the club is doing though.

I received an email from the manager of the Comfort Inn - Pine Grove. Their special rate is $60.50 plus tax which includes their Continental Breakfast (now with Hot Items).

Call the hotel direct at 570-345-8031 and mention 'Rausch Creek' to get their special rate OR you can book directly online using the link below:
Comfort Inn - Pine Grove Reservation Link (Rausch Creek discount code)

They have a heated indoor pool, fitness center, free wireless internet and plenty of parking for trailers.

I noticed that the ROAV is having a Summer Rally at Rausch Creek this July. I just wanted to let you know that the Comfort Inn – Pine Grove has a special rate for people who are going to the off-road park. The rate is $60.50 plus tax and includes our Continental Breakfast (now with Hot Items). We also have a heated indoor pool, fitness center, free wireless internet and plenty of parking for trailers.

Individuals can just call the hotel direct and mention “Rausch Creek” to get the rate. Or they can book directly on-line with the following link http://www.comfortinn.com/ires/en-US/html/ArrivalInfo?hotel=PA130&srp=LRAUS

If you happen to need a group of rooms blocked together, just let us know.

Thank you for your time,

Janine Murray

You didn't miss it. I updated the first post. The manager learned of our rally and sent me an email telling me about the rates.

As I get more information, I will update the FAQs.

If anyone is heading up from the Charlottesville area I'd like to 'convoy' up.

Absolutely. 130's rule.
I have a Front Runner SA rack with that ARB Simpson 2 tent that I was talking to you about ready to go on the truck. Unfortunately I don't have the hardware that holds it to the gutter rails- trying to get that before the months end.

I just got the note on the Rally and it sounds great but I'd love to get some feedback from the forum as to whether or not it's right for me.

I joined the Rover family last December with a new 2011 Range Rover HSE with the LUX pack (20" wheels). While I'm well versed on the race track with my other cars and performance driving, off-roading and Ranges are new. My only experience is about four days after picking the Range up I did Rocky Run in the Washington National Forest.

I'm not averse to dirt in the slightest but the Range is also my daily driver so I'd prefer not to trash her. Other than having the LUX pack with the larger wheels and camera system she's a stock 2011 with no mods.

So the question is will there be trails that I can hit with the Range at the Rally that will be fun even with my lack of off-roading skills and a stock 2011?

Also, on the race track I've adjusted to life without insurance but how does it work with off-roading? Do standard policies usually cover you?

Thanks.

- Ben
