The ROAV Spring Rally will be May 20-22 @ The Cove in Gore,Virginia.
The Cove is a private 3000 acre ORV park and offers miles of trails suitable for all. From brand new off the showroom truck and un-initiated driver, to the extreme rock crawler, this venue will appeal to all. We had a great time there in October and think this weekend in May will be perfect.
The Cove offers a lot of family friendly amenities-check out the link below.
Great venue and should be an awesome event !

I believe the Rausch event date was chosen with the knowledge that the ROAV event would be that weekend. Counter rallies seem to be the norm now.

Summer Rally is still on the drawing board. We have a couple of options including the invitation to hold a series Series only event @ a popular venue. I take it you liked the Montebello area and the Shoe creek and Big Levels trails ?

yes I liked it so much that if ROAV doesn't hold an event I will probably take the family up. Mike was a great tour guide, some of the prettiest trails I have ever been on.

I spoke with Tim @ Red Mountain Rovers and he and Bart and crew are planning on attending. They are big on fly fishing so hopefully the trout co operate.

Not really, an actual kick in the teeth would suck quite a bit more. I can understand though, it must be an attempt to keep the yahoo factor to a minimum. That said, it has been tried before, and did not last very long. Then there was the 101 FC only rally in upstate NY that is open to all now. They got tired of only 3 vehicles showing up. Anyway, good excuse to find out what land rovers are really about, and "get your series on"
Oops I think I just named the event

I think a Series only trail ride is a good idea...but an entire rally built around that concept? Thats a bit much.

Just a possibility gentlemen for that segment of the members based on an invitation. Its understood that a series only event won't satisfy a large portion of the membership. The idea being to try to offer to the membership more not less. Another consideration that has been discussed is holding events outside of Virginia as the club membership spans much of the Eastern seaboard @ this point. Four of this years seven board members live in Maryland for example. That said, there are a lot of series trucks in this club and I don't understand begrudging them a chance to get together seperately.
This thread is about the Spring event and you guys have already jumped to Summer.

I think a series only event is a great idea. Helps that a "popular venue" is close by.......
And I would love to attend the spring event. Was thinking of going to RC but The Cove is closer and that helps in a Series truck, plus I have never been there.
