I am moving overseas and reluctantly need to sell my '81 Series III 88". It is a great little rover and I love it but cant justify the expense of shipping it across the pond. It is RHD, has a galvanized chassis and rebuilt bulkhead, 2.25 ltr petrol engine, lower radiator hose heater, farey overdrive, free wheeling hubs in front, no corrosion, and no dents! Its in really great shape! I have been using it as a daily driver and hate to get rid of it but I would rather have someone who loves rovers get it and take care of it. If you are interested let me know and I will give you more details. Below you will find a pic and there are lots more if you are interested. I am asking $4000 but for $5000 Iwill throw in my 95 disco as well. It (the disco)runs great (3.9l V8) but is in rough shape on the inside. The last two owners were not car guys I guess. It would be great to have both if you want a series but want a V8 and/or coil sprung suspension. The disco has all you need! Hope to hear from you soon. Jeff
See below for pics!

Sounds like a great truck. What price are you asking? And pictures are always good!

Thnx for the reply. I am asking $8000 but that is negotiable. I am attaching one pic and more will follow. If you are really interested or know of someone who might be, I will be glad to give you all the details! Thanks again for the reply. I have tried to submit a pic but don't seem to be having much success. I will keep working on it and if I can't figure it out I will give you my email address and we can do it that way. Sorry about this.

If the truck is still available, i'd like to know about the stuff you already know needs to be addressed. Nagging leaks, etc ? I am not concerned about cosmetic stuff.
Thanks.

There are lots of little leaks in this 2.25 ltr. I think they all have problems with that to some extent but it all depends on how meticulous you are and how much time you want to spend working on the car and not driving it. I have been using this as a daily driver to and from work (5 miles or so) and its been great, but that means I haven't fixed all the leaks. There are the usual leaks at the swivel housings, diff plugs, transfer box etc but all are slight. I have serviced all the components once with fluids and the leak rate is tolerable for me, but partly because its my daily ride. I'd love to fix them all eventually but don't have the time now so I service it. The Biggest issue is 2nd gear doesn't work. I haven't had the time to get the gearbox out and see just what exactly it is. I can physically get the gear lever into position, but no go...it just grinds away. Its either the syncro or the entire gear. So far, I just skip it and the engine does fine. Its not ideal, but since I am only usually driving short distances its not a big deal. That definitely needs attention sometime. A gear from roversnorth.com costs about $129 and a gasket set is about $50. I really hate to give her up, but I can't take her with me overseas and I don't want her to rot just sitting here for the next 3 years. If you are still interested and want more pics let me know and I'll send them to any email you want. Thanks for the interest. She really is a great truck. I love it.

Yes, but it'll have to wait for a few minutes. It would be a lot easier if I could send it to an email, but I'll try to up load them in a half hour or so.
