GWNF:
The next public meeting will be held on October 5, 2010 at the Augusta County Governmental Center, Verona, VA. The purpose of the meeting will be to discuss the alternatives to be addressed in the Draft Environmental Impact Statement.


Amy offroader attendance is vital to keeping our interests represented in the planning process.

Plan Revision Meeting on Alternatives

October 5, 2010 6:30pm - 8:30pm

Augusta County Government Center (18 Government Lane, Verona VA)
The Forest Plan Revision Interdisciplinary Team has reviewed the public comments, identified significant issues that need to be addressed and developed six alternatives to respond to the issues. The alternatives identify a range of ways to address the various issues. We are now completing the evaluation of the environmental effects of each of the alternatives. Alternative descriptions and maps are in the Key Documents Section of the website.

Meeting Purpose
Describe the six alternatives developed for the Draft EIS
Discuss the alternatives and effects analysis with Forest personnel

Meeting Format

1. Presentation on Forest Plan alternatives (20 minutes)

2. Review the alternative maps and discuss with Forest Service personnel (60 minutes)

3. Break into groups to discuss questions (30 minutes) - What are the key criteria you would use to make your decision? and What are the important benefits or consequences in the six alternatives that are under consideration and how would these affect your decision?

Dan and I will be there. Not representing ROAV though.
ROAV members have proven they have no real interests in this issue.

It's really sad that no one from ROAV bothered to show up.
Think about that the next time you run across a gate or tank trap and start to whine about trails being closed.
Your input does make a difference!
