Hi,
I recently purchased my first Defender ('97 D90)! I am making my move from Tampa to Cville at the end of this week. I figured ROAV was a great way to meet fellow LR wheelers, to seek advice, and make some new friends in VA:-)
My fiance and I look forward to meeting you folks soon.
-Matthew

Welcome to the forum. We have our spring rally coming up in May. If you can join us it will be a fun time. Registration should be going up soon.

We will most likely be doing a couple different run groups, one aimed at built/modified rigs and one for stock rigs.
The important part is to make sure you have good recovery points front and rear.

Got it. I just got my Def (nothing added on my part), so maybe I'll be a sideliner for this event, but it sounds like a blast regardless.

Thanks Chuck I appreciate it! I'm sure I will be FULL of questions. I get up there later this week.... I'm sure I'd like to get other eyes on my truck to offer suggestions (i.e. tires, wheels, winch, roof rack, etc).

Think about coming up to the spring rally even if it's just for a day trip. I'm sure there will be an empty seat or two if you want to park the D90 and ride with someone else for a bit. It would be a good chance to meet some of the gang, as well as see some other defenders and what kind of mods they've made.

Matthew,
You Defender will be up to the task to attend most events.
Call me when you have an address picked.

I moved from Orlando to Richmond a few years back. You know what we have here? Seasons. Four of them. It means the weather changes from time to time. No, really. It's awesome! Welcome to the forums!

Thanks Smitty. Im originally from Missouri...I've missed the seasons for sure... well, not so much the frigid winter temps. I only lived in FL for about months, after coming from a 2yr stint in Germany. VA will be a nice place for sure... FL is flat!

Here in Cville we have the mountains less than 20 minutes away, and the James River is just about 30 minutes south. Lots to choose from, two breweries and about 6 wineries within 10 minutes of my place.

That sounds great. I'll be living in Barboursville and working up north of Cville. It'd be great to meet up some of you guys.

Where in Barboursville? I am in Orange, and there are a couple other trucks in Orange Co.
