Hi, new here.

I have an 07 LR3, 35k miles. Just yesterday the warning for checking pads came on. I have the LR work instructions for pad replacement, and am familier with repalcing pads on Volvos.

I requested a price quote on pads and sensors from BPUtah and LR Richmond. Both a over 200, BP UTah beating out the dealership by about 13 dollars after shipping.

I called the Rover Guy, who quoted almost half (around $140 before shipping) of what the other two quoted. IT was such a shock I was not sure what to think. I did not expect there to be that much of a price difference. All three are supposed to be OEM parts.

My question: Does this sound right? Has anyone delt with the rover guy before? Am I just being paranoid because of the huge price difference?

Any quidance appreciated.
Last, I am not planning on repalceing rotors. 35 k highway mostly, and no indication they are warped. Does anyone have experience to say I should replace the rotors? I know they should be measured to verify soundless, but i have a hard time believing they need replacing.

Thank you

Roverguy is Will Tillery. I am not aware of another person in the Rover community that is more trusted for this kind of stuff, I have been buying from Will for more than 5 years. Another really good source is charlie Haigh at the dealership in Roanoke.

ok...for what it is worth.

I did the pads this past weekend. I ended up using Wagner Pads...so far so good. Pads are easy to replace, the sensors, well....PITA due to where you have to reach to get to the electrical connection. The front was the worst. I tried to pull the rear one so as to not damage it so I could re-use it, but no luck. Will and I talked a few times, but never got to being able to order from him, so i got sensors from LR Richmond and pads from AutoZone.

Thanks for turning me on to Will. Whenever I need something, I plan on starting with him; to support an independant, and save a ibt of cash.

If you are in the greater Richmond area, and are contemplating a DIY brake job on an LR3, but want some advice/on-site help....I am a big fan of New Castle......

35K miles is real good for the OEM pads. Plan on rotors for the next change and I hope you get 35K with those Wagner pads.

My last dealership visit at 24K they said my pads were @ 40%. I found some EBC Green Stuff pads on eBay that are cheaper than anywhere else and they are rated pretty good for our heavy LR3 SUVs.

I plan to do the job myself in another month or so. I do need to order the V8 rotor carriage and the V8 model rotors for the next change. My V6 came with smaller rotors F&R, don't know why...
