Actually, just moved up from the tidewater area and joined the ROAV. I'm looking forward to getting out and doing some real off-roading!

Hey thanks for the reply!! Alexnadria does have a ton of disco - not sure that too many have ever left the pavement...

Do you have a good local mechanic, or do you use the dealership? My truck goes off of warranty this summer and I'm looking for a shop to do the stuff I can't handle in my own driveway.

Ha, I agree...most haven’t ever gone off of the beaten path. Sad.

I did see a few driving around during the snow storm....that and Jeep Rubicons were about the only thing that could navigate the streets.

I have had good luck w/ the local LR dealership, the labor isnt cheap, of course...but they are convenient and knowledgeable. I guess that has to count for something.

Maybe I will see you up at the ROAV Spring Rally- Looks like its gonna be a muddy one!

That's a sweet looking defender you have. Is that an ARB bar on front. I'm getting ready to install the ARB Sahara bar on my truck. Trying to find the best place to buy it from. One of the things I'm wrestling with is will I need to upgrade my front springs after I add the 300 lbs from the bumper and winch. Did you install your bumper yourself or had a shop do it?

Unfortunately, my schedule isn't going to allow me to attend the spring ralley. I'll have to shoot for the next one. Sad

Thanks! Its my first D-90, I am very happy with it.

it is an ARB, the gent I bought it from had it installed, im very happy with it. I have a Warn 8274 mounted in it- and I have an OME 1.75" lift to compensate for the weight of the winch and bumper.

A good buddy of mine swears by DAP for parts www.dap-inc.com

Locally there is a shop in NVA, Maryland www.tricktrucks.com a guy in my office has had his truck worked on there (lift, tires, etc) and gives them a rave review.

Bummer about the Rally, there was a Rover off road event sponsored by the Alexandria shop down in The Plains, VA last sunday, I heard it was a good event as well.
