Since the current version is getting no where, maybe we can change this page to a review of trails on the east coast so newer members can get an idea of what places like the Cove, Raush Creek or Uwharrie are like as well as some of the private propertues that ROAV uses on occasion like the Moor farm at Mountain lake. We can still post up about access issues if there is interest. Thoughts?

What about Rick, who volunteered to help with the Virginia Trails but could not get a call back from the ROAV "leaders"?
But I agree, it wold be easier to ignore the issues. They'll go away on their own.

I am not involved with that, ask Rick or the BOD. Are you having a problem getting people to talk to you? I cannot imagine why.

Huh? Who's not talking to me?
Chuck, get a clue. I know more about what's going on with ROAV than you do.

I agree with the "One Bad Disco" on this..
Dan (if I may), there is a motorcycle web site that I frequent a lot. they have this very info there. I like way it's laid out ie: country, state, province and so on. then with the bubbles/locations with info. Good stuff there. This is the site and section for your entertainment and thoughts. click on a state, then scroll down or click a bubble for more info.
Hell.... this might work better over on Dweb. I only say that because, people spend more time over there than here. nothing against the ROAV guys. but it could work regionally here, and definitely nationally over there.

new members here may not be checking any of those other sites. Many of our members are new to offraoding in general, that was why I thought it might be useful. Write ups for other events would fit as well, like ROTR, the Winter Rally in Maine and so forth.

Chuck,
Wouldn't that be part of events? rather than where to ride?
Besides, why not just create a sub-section on events to talk about other peoples / events that have no impact from ROAV? and leave section at it appears to be intended VA Trails

I would say get rid of this forum as it is. No one here cares enough to do anything.
A good bit of the new members are from out of state and don't really care about land issues in Virginia or anywhere for that matter as long as they have a farm to drive on once a year.

Sad to say I am starting to agree with you. If that is indeed true then the question should be, what is ROAV doing to educate its members on the trails issues in Virginia and the surrounding States? I know most of the ROAV members wheel outside of the state every once in a while.

Mike, the answer is nothing I imagine. The problem with a club this big and spread out is that those issues are not local, so most folks don't see a need to get involved. Many but not all use their LR as a daily driver mostly or it is purely a trail truck that goes places like the Cove. Some folks are involved in other ways. I think it is one of those ideas that everyone likes but no one seems to have the time to do.

Chuck you are on the money. My suggestion would be to make baby steps and ask VA4WDA and U4WDA to have a booth at MAR next year. Education might help get people excited enough to do something. I hope.
